Nova Scotia is home. Our workshop is in Halifax, and from there we measure, make and install custom blinds and shades in homes and businesses from Yarmouth to Glace Bay.
The province packs a lot of variety into a small space. Fog and salt on the South Shore. Clear, cold nights in the Annapolis Valley and around Truro. Harbour glare in Halifax and Dartmouth. Open Atlantic wind in Cape Breton. Heritage homes in Lunenburg, Wolfville and Halifax's South End, mid-century bungalows in Lower Sackville and Cole Harbour, and new builds with walls of glass in Bedford South and Hammonds Plains.
We know these houses, because we live in them.
What we hear most from Nova Scotians
- "The house is cold near the windows." Cellular shades are our best-selling product in the province for this reason. Paired with a heat pump, they make a real difference.
- "The sun is in my eyes all winter." At noon on December 21 the sun is only 20 to 23 degrees above the horizon across Nova Scotia. Solar shades cut the glare and keep the view.
- "The kids are up at 5:30." June sunrise is around 5:10 to 5:40 a.m. across the province. Blackout with sealed edges solves it.
- "Everything at the cottage is damp." Moisture-resistant fabrics, faux wood and corrosion-resistant hardware.
How it works in Nova Scotia
Halifax Regional Municipality is our home turf: measures can usually be booked within days and most orders are installed about two weeks later. Outside HRM, we schedule regular measure and install trips to the Valley, the South Shore, the North Shore, Pictou and Antigonish counties, Cape Breton and southwest Nova Scotia.
