Atlantic Shades ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, postal code or street address, and details about your windows, when you book a measure, request a quote, join the trade program or contact us.
- Information from your visit: pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location (city or region), collected through analytics tools and cookies.
- Approximate location from your IP address: to show you the nearest community we serve. We look up your city or region at the moment you visit. We do not store your IP address for this purpose.
How we use it
- To schedule and carry out your measure, prepare your quote, make and install your order, and provide warranty service
- To answer your questions
- To improve our website and services
- To send you marketing emails only if you have agreed to receive them, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business (for example website hosting, booking, email and analytics providers), under agreements that require them to protect it, or where the law requires.
Some of these providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner.
How long we keep it
We keep customer records for as long as needed to provide warranty service and meet legal and tax requirements, and then delete or anonymize them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@atlanticshades.com.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and reputable service providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada of any breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.
