The fit guarantee
If we measured it and it does not fit, we remake it. Free. No arguments about whose measurement was right. That is the point of letting us measure.
The 5-year warranty
Every Atlantic Shades blind and shade is covered for 5 years from the date of installation against defects in materials and workmanship. That includes:
- Fabrics and slats
- Headrails, bottom rails and brackets
- Lift systems: cordless, continuous loop, wand and tilt mechanisms
- Workmanship: sewing, assembly and installation
Motors and electronics are covered by the motor manufacturer's warranty, and we handle the claim for you.
What is not covered
- Normal wear, and gradual fading from years of direct sun (all fabrics fade eventually; our UV-stable fabrics fade far more slowly)
- Damage from pets, accidents, misuse or improper cleaning
- Blinds installed or repaired by anyone other than Atlantic Shades
- Water damage from leaks or flooding
How to make a claim
- Email hello@atlanticshades.com with your name, address and a photo of the problem.
- We will tell you within two business days what happens next. Many issues can be fixed by phone or video in a few minutes.
- If it needs a visit, we book one. If a part or the blind needs replacing, we make it in Halifax and install it.
Repairs after the warranty
We repair and adjust our own products for as long as you own them. Restringing, new motors, replacement fabric on an existing roller tube. Ask us before you replace a blind; often it is a quick fix.

What happens if my custom blinds do not fit?
If Atlantic Shades measured your windows and the blinds do not fit, we remake them at no cost. This is our fit guarantee, and it is the main reason we always measure for you.
Does the warranty cover fading?
The warranty covers defects, not the natural, gradual fading every fabric shows after years of strong sun. Our UV-stable fabrics are chosen to fade far more slowly, which matters on south and west windows in coastal homes.
Do you repair blinds you did not make?
Generally no, because we cannot stand behind parts and systems we did not build. We are happy to measure and quote a replacement.
