West Royalty is one of Charlottetown's growth areas, with newer subdivisions, townhouses and apartments spreading out toward the North River, close to UPEI and the main shopping.
Newer homes mean the brief is about finishing: a modern look, blackout bedrooms and privacy where neighbours are close.
What we fit most here: zebra blinds in living areas, blackout cellular shades for bedrooms and motorized shades on tall windows.
Close to UPEI. West Royalty's location near the university means a mix of family homes and rental units. For landlords, durable cordless roller shades and faux wood blinds are easy to clean and replace.
Open land, open sky. Newer West Royalty homes near the North River often have open views and take wind across the fields, so cellular shades on windward walls are a popular upgrade even in new builds.
Frequently asked questions
What blinds suit a new build in Charlottetown?
Zebra or light-filtering cellular shades for living areas, blackout for bedrooms and faux wood for kitchens and bathrooms.
How long do blinds take?
Most orders are installed about two weeks after the measure.
Do new homes need insulating blinds?
They benefit from them. Even good modern windows lose much more heat than an insulated wall, and cellular shades improve comfort near the glass on cold, windy nights.
